Hi! I'm currently a PhD student in Cognitive Science at Brown University. I’m interested in the idea of visualizations (like drawings, or even flow charts and graphs) and the role they play in communication. How do we glean information from graphs and line drawings? How and why do we misunderstand them? Moreover, why are features of certain types of data visualizations more easily understood than others? And, ambitiously, can we reverse engineer that to see how we can most efficiently communicate about particular kinds of information?

I received my Bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College, with a major in Neuroscience and Behaviour and a special minor in Graphic Narrative and Visual Storytelling. I did my undergraduate thesis research with Mara Breen .
